When necessary, consultations can be arranged with specialists throughout the Ottawa and surrounding areas. The Ontario Ministry of Health (OHIP) requires that a patient be seen by their primary care physician prior to any referral. Once a referral has been sent to a specialist it will be triaged by that office and they will contact patients directly with appointments. Please be aware that wait times are longer than normal in the Ottawa area.
