While OHIP covers the costs for most of your medical needs, we provide many services which are not covered.
Examples of these include, but are not limited to:
Prescription renewals by phone
Sick notes
Notes recommending physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractor, etc…
Insurance forms
These uninsured services require significant time and resources to administer and the demand has increased exponentially in the past couple of years. For this reason, we can no longer offer free of charge these uninsured services. Therefore, the payment of the services has become the responsibility of the patient or the agency requesting the service.
There are two ways you may wish to address these fees. The first option is that you consider paying the annual fee, referred to as “block fee”, to cover uninsured services for one year. This method appears to be preferred by many of our patients. For those who choose not to accept the annual coverage program, the second option is to pay for individual services at the time the service is provided. Please click the link below for a list of items covered by OVFHO One Pay (block fees). All uninsured services must be paid in full when rendered. A receipt will be provided upon payment.
Please see the attached list of services and fees, in accordance with the fee schedule recommended by the Ontario Medical Association.
If you are financially unable to pay for an uninsured service you may request the fee exemption. We realize that there are special circumstances.
